Rockelle has denied that her parents “exploited” her after Pink tweeted about pictures of Rockelle in a bikini.
On Sunday, Pink tweeted about pictures of Rockelle in a bikini that were posted to Rockelle’s Instagram account.
“How many children like Piper Rockelle are exploited by their parents?” Said the singer. “And at what point do the rest of us say⦠‘it’s not right for a 13 year old girl to pose in a bikini while her MOTHER takes the picture?!?!”
âPictures of teens in bikinis having fun are not sexual,â Rockelle told Insider in a statement, which was first reported by Today. “They are only sexual if you see us that way.”
She and her mother, Tiffany, also rebuffed the tweet in a statement to Insider. Tiffany said she wanted to support her daughter’s passions and protect her.
Rockelle also told Insider that she doesn’t believe Pink watched her YouTube videos. “If she did,” said Rockelle, “she would see that it’s just my friends and I having fun and acting like ourselves.”
Courtney Stodden appeared to support Pink’s criticisms.
Courtney Stodden, a former model who said she was treated as a child, weighed in on Pink’s tweet about Rockelle on Tuesday.
âIt’s hard for kids to separate the attention they get online from the predatory behavior of adults,â Stodden wrote in an Instagram caption. âIt is our responsibility as a society to step up and protect our children as much as possible to avoid falling victim to this cycle of digital grooming. As adults we can see what they cannot. . “
Stodden married actor Doug Hutchison when they were 16 and Hutchison was 51. In March 2020, Stodden announced their divorce.
In an interview with The Daily Beast earlier this year, they called Hutchison a âgroomerâ and a âpredatorâ.
“It took me a long, long time to figure out what had happened to me,” Stodden said, “and I’m still experiencing the repercussions of being treated.”
